BrazilMusic Conference celebrates 10 years, new name and announces dates
23 October 2017 - Press releaseAs it enters into its tenth year, the scene leading Rio Music Conference is changing names and becoming the Brazil Music Conference (BRMC). Taking place over four days from March 7th to 10th 2018, the conference will also move locations to the great centre that is a meeting place for all Brazilians, Sao Paolo, and will continue to be the industry standard for anyone involved in electronic music in South America.
Last year’s edition had 74 hours of programming across three days and six auditoriums. There were 270 speakers, two networking areas, more than 100 activities, panels and workshops, Q&As and speed coaching and more than 60 parties in club week. 400 brands attended the trade fair and there were awards in 22 different categories. As such, this is a vital conference for the region and one that will only expand under its new name and in its new location.
Growing carries the responsibility of leading movements, leading major changes and pulling neighbouring countries towards market evolution and progress. This is the role that BRMC has just assumed. The change marks the arrival of the tenth year of the conference, a major entertainment industry representative within the creative economy, and is strategic to its new globalizing position. According to founder Claudio da Rocha Miranda Filho, "It's time to broaden the spectrum and act in a continental manner." In São Paulo, the BRMC will be held in the beautiful Unibes Cultural space, on Oscar Freire Street.
The BRMC has a lot to celebrate. In more than 30 conferences spread across 13 cities in all regions of Brazil, important characters met for the first time; in the networking areas many new ideas were born, found support, and grew to take on a life of their own; in the pages of its yearbook artists who came to conquer Brazil shared space alongside national and world icons.
The space for dialogue created by BRMC is its largest capital. It is intended not only to connect DJs, producers, entrepreneurs, media and all involved in the electronic music scene, but also to serve as a platform for brands and investors interested in this broad sector that moves more than $7 billion in the world economy, every year.
