★★★★☆
The makers of the British teen comedy Sex Education told Ezra Furman, aka Chicago’s favourite cross-dressing observant Jewish singer-songwriter: “We want you to be the Simon and Garfunkel to our The Graduate.”

Neither quite match up to that comparison, but Furman leaves behind the punk anger of last year’s album, Twelve Nudes, for heartfelt emoting over sunny tunes, which suits the show perfectly. Best of all is Every Feeling, an acoustic strum about feeling everything too deeply; something adolescents of all ages will relate to. (Bella Union)
