The FAC and CMU to host Artist:Entrepreneur Day

The FAC and CMU are hosting a special online version of their flagship event, the Artist:Entrepreneur Day, on Saturday 1 August 2020 with support from Help Musicians UK.

The Artist:Entrepreneur programme from the Featured Artists Coalition and CMU:DIY is a series of artist-led events that provide important information and practical advice to help early-stage artists build a long-term career and sustainable business around their music. In light of the current hardship that many artists are finding themselves in, this online edition of A:E day is free, focussing on digital income streams and how to build and nurture a fanbase without playing live.

The day will be hosted by artist entrepreneurs Emma McGann, Kimberly Anne and Roxanne de Bastion, who will each let attendees inside their individual artist businesses. They will be joined by CMU's Chris Cooke and a team of music industry experts, including  Aly Gillani from Bandcamp, Cliff Fluet from Lewis Silkin, Jataneel Banerjee from PRS For Music, Lulu Davis from Incendia Music, Shauni Caballero from The Go 2 Agency, Sheila Shayegan from Bucks Music, Terence Daniel from PPL and Tom Burris from ie:music management.

On the event, Chris from CMU says: "Artist:Entrepreneur Day is one of my favourite events, because we get to explain how different elements of the music industry work, and then actually see what that means in real terms as each FAC artist entrepreneur opens up their respective artist business. And while it's a shame we can't run the event face-to-face like normal, being online means we can share these insights with an even wider range of artists around the UK and beyond".

The day runs from 1.00pm-5.30pm on Zoom – ticket-holders will be sent a link on the day. Please see an outline of the day below and book your free place at this edition of Artist:Entrepreneur Day here.

1.00-2.15pm Making Money From Your Songs & Recordings

2.45-4.00pm Building And Connecting With A Fanbase
