★★★☆☆
Formerly called Fish until realising the former lead singer of Marillion might object, this grungy, chaotic four-piece from north London have been knocking about on the live circuit for a few years.

Their debut shows an indie band brimming with ideas — not ones that always work or make sense, but ideas nonetheless. Right Round the Clock clatters along with such jazzy discord that you might not notice how it borrows lines from Tears for Fears’ Mad World.

The singer Asha Lorenz’s singsong tones on Heather are very sweet, while on Rock ’n’ Roll Star she sounds suitably frayed as she details an exhausting one-night stand over a clattering squall.

It doesn’t always hang together, but it’s intriguing and original. (Domino)
