I meet Gary and Martin Kemp of Spandau Ballet – and the Blitz Club and The Krays and EastEnders (in the case of Martin) and a one-off Radio 4 doc on the work of 19th-century architect Edward William Goodwin* (*Gary) and general longstanding ongoing pop culture iconography – on the set of the Times Magazine photoshoot. They’re posing like pros, as if they’ve done this 1,000 times before – which, of course, they have. They are 60 and 58 respectively, they’ve been in the public eye for 50 years (child actors, they’d both been on telly before they were ten, products of Anna Scher’s north London community theatre school), so they know their angles and they know their light and they take direction
