The lyrics are as enigmatic as ever although one thing is clear — Bob Dylan does not buy the sole gunman theory about President Kennedy’s death.

America’s greatest living songwriter released his first new tune for eight years yesterday, taking his listeners on a journey through the nation’s recent social and political history.

The song, which at almost 17 minutes is his longest track, starts on a “dark day in Dallas, November ’63, a day that will live on in infamy” when for John F Kennedy “it was a good day to be living and a good day to die”.
