Get back to where you once belonged, Abbey Road studio told

Abbey Road recording studio is embroiled in a planning row with residents over proposals to convert an office into a music school.

The studio, where the Beatles recorded most of their music, hopes to expand by opening a school for production and sound engineering near by at 15 Hatton Street in west London.

However, residents have criticised it as a “very upsetting and unsettling prospect”, fearing it will turn their quiet street into a noisy, late-night venue with students chatting and smoking outside their windows. In responses to the local council, neighbours have complained that traffic will go up and their property values will drop. The opening hours — 9am to 11pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 10pm on Sundays — are also excessive,
